The Secret Doctrine: 100 Years Later: (CD)
Joy Mills

$37.95 audio CD
978-0-8356-8402-6

In this series of five programs given at the Krotona School of Theosophy on the 100th anniversary of its publication in 1888, Joy Mills provides an insightful overview of Madame Blavatsky’s Secret Doctrine and explains how it had such a tremendous impact on Western thought and why it still intrigues and challenges us today. Topics covered in this five-part program include: 1) awakening a new mode of thought, 2) sources of The Secret Doctrine, 3) the cosmogonic process, or the origin of the universe, 4) anthropogenesis, or the origin of humanity, and 5) the ethics of The Secret Doctrine. Joy Mills, a lifetime student of The Secret Doctrine, offers a broad range of insights and commentary that will be invaluable to anybody seeking to learn more about The Secret Doctrine. She says, “We must recognize that the principles enunciated in The Secret Doctrine were given, not in some final sense of revelation, but as testable verities, and in this the study of these two volumes differs from all ordinary textbooks and ordinary studies.” She goes on to say that the hints and clues given in The Secret Doctrine are designed to awaken the intuition and stimulate deeper thought. The testability of these principles lies not in some external laboratory but in the interior transformations that must occur if the student is to comprehend these ideas. 10 CDs. 1988. 397 minutes.
